MNDO Licensing
What will happen to the data that is entered on this page?
The data that is entered in the fields below will be used by the server exclusively to generate a PDF license file. Processing and storage of the data by the server is temporary and all data saved to disk will have been deleted by the time the user has received a response (either in the form of the requested PDF document or as an error message). No cookies are used in the process.
Who may apply for an MNDO license?
Group leaders and independent scientists at universities and public research institutes are the main target audience of program MNDO who may receive a license free of charge. PhD students should ask their supervisor to obtain a license for them. Licensees get access to the MNDO source code and are allowed to use the program doing their academic research. One important purpose of the license is to prohibit commercial use of the program.
How to proceed
To apply for a license for program MNDO, please prepare a license form as described below, attach your signature to the document (for instance by printing the form and scanning the signed document), and send it to 'mndokofo.mpg.de'. By sending this email, the licensee declares to concur with the signed license form being archived by the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, at least as long as the license is valid. In response you will receive an email with the name and a preliminary password of your Git account (and additional accounts for other group members if you wish). Before you will be able to use git over the command line, you need to log in on the Gitea web interface at least once where you will be prompted to change your password.
MNDO license form generation
To download a PDF file with the MNDO license form, please fill in the fields below and klick the download button when finished. Depending on the configuration of your web browser, the file will open in a PDF reader, you will be asked where to store the PDF file, or it will be stored silently (perhaps in a download folder). The date included on the form will be the local time in Mülheim (Germany) where the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung is located.
You may edit your input and generate a new PDF file any number of times until you leave or close this web page. After that, however, you will have to fill in your data again. This gives you the opportunity to experiment a bit with your input. You might even be able to use LaTeX commands to obtain some special characters. If the PDF generation fails because of this, a new browser window or tab will open that will show the error message. You may click away this message without losing your input.
